Bride of Christ
"I am kind of wistful because she is making her final commitment. I am happy about how happy she is. Every parent wants their child to be happy," said John Pitts of Georgia, who visits with his daughter Sister Isidora Maria before her First Profession of Vows on Thursday, April 3, 2018, at the Immaculate Conception Monastery at the Passionist Nuns of St. Louis. Sister Isidora as a Bride of Christ will vow to follow Jesus Crucified more closely in a life of devotion to and grateful remembrance of His Passion, a life of chastity, poverty, obedience, and enclosure. The bars of the grate in the visitation room preserve the barrier of the cloister, dividing the nuns from outsiders and maintaining their vow of enclosure. The nuns are only allowed family visits once or twice a year where the grate can be open.
